How to clean your phone
A well-kept, clean phone doesn't just look better — it's also more hygienic. Studies show that phones can carry more bacteria than a toilet seat.
Prepare the phone
Switch off the phone and unplug all cables. Remove the case – you'll clean it separately.
Use the right cloth
ONLY a microfibre cloth. Paper towels and ordinary fabrics can scratch the screen and damage the oleophobic coating.
Dampen the cloth
Lightly dampen the cloth with warm water. It should be damp, not wet. NEVER spray liquid directly onto the phone.
Wipe gently
Wipe from top to bottom with gentle movements. Pay particular attention to the screen and the back.
Disinfect (if needed)
The CDC recommends using wipes with at least 70% alcohol. Squeeze out any excess liquid before wiping.
Let it dry
Let the phone air-dry for 5 minutes. Then wipe it again with a dry microfibre cloth.
Clean the case
Wash silicone/TPU cases with warm water and soap. Dry thoroughly before putting them back on.
What to avoid
- ✕ Window cleaner, bleach, vinegar
- ✕ Hydrogen peroxide
- ✕ Abrasive materials
- ✕ Hand sanitiser directly on the screen
- ✕ Compressed air (may damage the speakers)
How often should you clean it?
It is recommended to clean your phone daily with a microfibre cloth, and to disinfect it once a week.
