Magnetic or clamp car mount — which holds better?

A clamp grips the phone mechanically, so it is the safer choice on rough roads and with heavy phones. A magnetic mount is faster — you place the phone one-handed — but holding force depends on the magnets: MagSafe-standard mounts hold well, while a thin metal plate under a case holds noticeably less.

Does a magnetic mount work through a case?

Through a thin case (up to roughly 2 mm) a MagSafe mount works, though the hold weakens. A thicker or rugged case pushes the magnets too far apart — in that case choose a case with magnets built in, or an adhesive metal plate.

Where in the car is the best place to mount a phone?

A vent mount is the most convenient and does not block your view, but in winter the warm air blowing through heats the phone. Mounted on the windscreen or dashboard the phone sits more steadily and closer to your line of sight — just make sure the mount does not obstruct the road.

Description

An extra grip for everyday phone use

The black M-LIFE ML0710B adds a metal ring to the back of a suitable phone or case. Slip a finger through the ring when browsing, taking a photo or making a video call. It gives your hand another point to hold.

Turn the ring to suit your grip

The rotating ring lets you change its orientation relative to the phone. Turn it to a position that feels convenient when holding the device upright or sideways, rather than keeping your hand in one fixed position. The adjustment is part of the holder itself.

A stand when you want to watch

The ring also works as a stand for a compatible phone on a suitable flat surface. Set the device down for a video or a call instead of holding it throughout. Check that the phone is balanced in the chosen position before letting go.

Attach it with 3M adhesive tape

The holder uses 3M adhesive tape for mounting to the device or case. Choose a suitable back surface and follow the mounting instructions when preparing and attaching it. Adhesion depends on the material, finish and condition of the mounting surface.

Compact metal design, more mounting options

Its compact metal construction and black finish keep the holder visually understated on the phone. It can also be used with compatible magnetic holders, adding another mounting option.
