Tempered glass or hydrogel film — what is the difference?

Tempered glass (9H hardness) protects against drops and scratches and feels like the real screen under your finger. Hydrogel film is thinner and flexible, sits properly on a curved screen and heals surface scratches by itself — but it does not absorb impact. For most phones we recommend tempered glass.

Does a screen protector make the display worse?

No. A good protector has over 99% light transmission and an oleophobic coating that repels fingerprints. Colours and brightness stay the same.

Will a protector interfere with the fingerprint reader?

Tempered glass can slow down an in-display reader slightly. Hydrogel film works better with that technology. Tip: re-register your fingerprints after fitting the protector.

How often should a screen protector be replaced?

Replace it as soon as you see cracks or deep scratches — a cracked protector no longer protects properly. A good one typically lasts 6–12 months.

Quantum dot technology for your eyes

3mk Eye Care Protector™ is a tempered glass enhanced with a quantum dot layer – the same kind of film used by QLED television manufacturers. Quantum dots are tiny crystals that change their energy state under light: they absorb the harmful blue light emitted by LED diodes and convert it into red wavelengths that are safe for your sight. The light coming off the screen becomes pleasantly soft, while colours stay true to life.

An improved Anti-Blue Light effect

Long hours in front of a screen bring on eye fatigue early and make falling asleep harder. The new, improved Anti-Blue Light function helps you avoid that without dimming what you see: light transmittance reaches a record 92%, so the display stays bright and sharp. A natural choice for heavy social media users, gamers and evening online shoppers.

Maximum 9H hardness

This multifunctional glass looks after more than your eyesight. Its maximum 9H hardness shields the delicate screen from scratches and cracks even in genuinely risky moments, so a single good-looking protector serves you for a very long time.

A screen that stays clean and responsive

Two further layers complete the structure: oleophobic and antimicrobial. The oleophobic coating keeps fingerprints from settling in and preserves the original touch sensitivity – your finger glides smoothly and smudges wipe away easily. The antimicrobial coating eliminates 99% of bacteria, viruses, fungi and mould. In the box: the glass, an Anti-Bubble Card™ and a mounting kit.
