What is the difference between a silicone and a plastic case?

A silicone case is soft and flexible, and it absorbs impact well. It grips in the hand, but it collects dust and yellows over time. A hard plastic (PC) case is thin and easy to keep clean, but it does not give under impact. For most people a TPU or hybrid case is the better compromise — it combines both.

How do I choose the right case?

Choose for the way you actually use the phone: if you drop it often, take a rugged case; if you want to keep the phone slim, TPU or silicone is enough; if you want to carry cards, pick a wallet case. Above all, check that the case is made for your exact phone model.

Does a case protect against drops?

Yes, though how much depends on the type. A thin silicone case keeps scratches away and helps with low falls. Rugged cases such as UAG or Spigen Tough Armor are drop-tested from 2–3 metres and give the most protection.

Why does a clear silicone case turn yellow?

UV light and the natural oils on your skin cause it. It is normal and cannot be prevented entirely. Tip: a darker colour or a clear TPU case yellows far less visibly.

Description

Smart Velvet case for iPhone 7 / 8 / SE 2020 black This wallet-style case wraps the phone in pleasant matte faux leather and adds useful storage for everyday essentials. Two card pockets and a larger inner compartment hold cards, documents or banknotes, while the folding back forms a stand for comfortable viewing.

A fitted inner shell keeps the phone in place, and the magnetic closure helps the cover remain shut. Precise openings preserve access to controls and ports, while an earpiece opening lets calls continue with the front flap closed.
