What is the difference between a silicone and a plastic case?

A silicone case is soft and flexible, and it absorbs impact well. It grips in the hand, but it collects dust and yellows over time. A hard plastic (PC) case is thin and easy to keep clean, but it does not give under impact. For most people a TPU or hybrid case is the better compromise — it combines both.

How do I choose the right case?

Choose for the way you actually use the phone: if you drop it often, take a rugged case; if you want to keep the phone slim, TPU or silicone is enough; if you want to carry cards, pick a wallet case. Above all, check that the case is made for your exact phone model.

Does a case protect against drops?

Yes, though how much depends on the type. A thin silicone case keeps scratches away and helps with low falls. Rugged cases such as UAG or Spigen Tough Armor are drop-tested from 2–3 metres and give the most protection.

Why does a clear silicone case turn yellow?

UV light and the natural oils on your skin cause it. It is normal and cannot be prevented entirely. Tip: a darker colour or a clear TPU case yellows far less visibly.

Description

Obliq Naked Shield is a smoky black slim protective case for iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 Plus. A clear rigid polycarbonate rear panel shows the phone's design, while the flexible TPU edge and reinforced Air Spring corners help absorb everyday knocks and protect the sides.

Fit the phone evenly into the flexible edge and check that the camera, buttons and connectors remain correctly aligned. A raised edge of about 1.5 mm helps keep the display away from a flat surface when placed face down. Remove dust trapped inside periodically; the case cannot prevent damage from every fall.

Compatibility: Apple iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 Plus
Materials: rigid polycarbonate rear panel and flexible TPU edge
Design: reinforced Air Spring corners, precise openings and an approximately 1.5 mm raised screen edge
